What is a Web-Quest?
We might hear the words Web-quest and think of a web site or a computer game but what is a Web-quest really?
The word quest means to search, so in my opinion i can safely say that a web-quest is a web search, or a search done by someone using the world wide web as their guide.
What is the importance of a Web quest?
Now we have an idea of what a web-quest is, so what is its importance, how can it be used?
well one of its function is in the field of Education, as it seeks to assist teachers along with learners in the classroom, in such a way that it promotes independent learners. It has truly made a mark since its integration in the class room.
In the case that the facilitator has a lesson to be taught in whatever subject area it might be, a web quest can be designed to deliver the lesson in a learner centered and scaffolding manner. But this can be done with an ordinary lesson plan or an ordinary approach to teaching so how is a web quest different?
A web-quest is different in various ways, as it would incorporate various technologies, media and educational activities which easily gets the learner's interest. this method is interactive and helps the learner to relate better and contribute to the world of learning.
